A brief history of the Chicago & North Western line between Mason City and Belle Plaine, Iowa:

06/26/21

Located north of Carnforth, this large concrete arch bridge crosses a tributary of Rock Creek just west of Hartwick Road.
Built in approximately 1910, the bridge consists of a single concrete arch span. The railroad through here was abandoned in 1958, and the bridge has sat in a field ever since.
It appears that the bridge is currently used for farm access. Unfortunately, it is in extremely poor condition.

The author has ranked the bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design and poor condition.
The photo above is an overview.
